Career Guidance and Employment Support Centers
Local Hubs for Skills Development – LINKS Centres operate in four regions of Georgia: Adjara, Guria, Kvemo Kartli, and Shida Karltli, as a part of the project implemented by the United Nations Association of Georgia and Open Society Georgia Foundation "Local Investments in Networks for Knowledge and Skill-share (LINKS)", financed and supported by the European Union, in frames of the Skills4Jobs program.
The project aims to contribute to improved quality and accessibility of skills anticipation, skills development and skills matching services and their alignment with Georgia's socio-economic development strategy in four target regions of Georgia: Adjara, Guria, Kvemo Kartli and Shida Kartli.
The project invests in regional skills development hubs to amplify local voices and ownership and to build sustainable know-how of coordination with local businesses and other stakeholders, constituency building, labour market research, career guidance, job counselling, training and other interventions that will build local networks, partnerships and capacities for improved skills anticipation and matching.
One of the project's key objectives is to support young people in skills development, career guidance, entry and stay in the labour market. The LINKS Centres in the four targeted regions of Georgia offer young people aged 15-29 an array of activities to develop market-relevant skills and competencies:
- Development of key competencies
- Digital and computer literacy
- Citizenship education
- English language courses
- Key entrepreneurial competences
- Access to lifelong learning resources
- Career guidance sessions
- Professional secondments for the selected candidates
- Access to skills/vacancy management portal
- Funding of social and socially responsible start-ups
