Invited guests were introduced to the recommendations of the Office of Public Defender, the Council of National Minorities (Tolerance Center), and Social Justice Center towards the new State Strategy for Civic Equality and Integration.
The Public Defender Nino Lomjaria, and Deputy Director of the USAID’s Democracy, Rights and Governance Office, Laura Berger delivered opening remarks during the meeting.
Recommendations were presented by the head of Equality Department of the Public Defender of Georgia, Keti Shubashvili; representatives of the Council of National Minorities and the Tolerance Center, Koba Chopliani and Izabela Osipova, as well as a representative of the Social Justice Center Tamta Mikeladze. The event was moderated by PITA Chief of Party, Lasha Jugheli.
The event was organized by USAID’s Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness Program (PITA), which is implemented by the United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG). Tolerance Center under the Public Defender of Georgia is supported by the PITA program.
