Georgian students receive the honor of the first place in the internet role-playing game, Global Island

This April, 120 Georgian students became involved in a virtual discussion hosted by internet role-playing game –<a href="http://www.globalisland.nu/pages_intro/en/index.php?lang=en">Global Island.</a>Global Island is a place where issues which top the global development agenda are debated. The round of Global Island which occurred this spring was dedicated to the prevention of global environmental disasters. The Georgian team, namely the Akhaltsikhe and Rustavi Youth Activist clubs, received the honor of first place among the hundreds of virtual participants from all over the world who took part in this round.</p> <p>In the virtual world of Global Island students come together as citizens and parliamentarians of Global Island’s five nations to find solutions to the world’s biggest problems. The game is aimed at students between the ages of 15 and 19. The goal of Global Island is to spark the interests of students in global issues while strengthening their argumentation technique and educating them about democracy.
