Capacity building trainings for the officers of Patrol Police

On July 7-9 and 14-17 2009, the capacity building trainings were held for the officers of Patrol Police according to the reached agreement between the director of Patrol Police Department, The United Nations Association of Georgia and The United Nations High Commissioner for refugees.</p> <p>The main goal of the trainings was to inform police officers with theoretical and practical aspects of international protection of refugees and asylum seekers, including international and local legislation.</p> <p>Totally 174 patrol police officersparticipated in the trainings. The trainings were carried out on the border check points all over the Georgia. The first trainings were conducted on July 7-9 in Sarpi, Poti Port and Batumi Airport. The second phase was done on July 14-17 in Sadakhlo, Red Bridge, Tbilisi Airport, Lagodekhi.</p> <p>The trainings were conducted in frames of Refugee Council of Georgia Program, implemented by The United Nations Association of Georgia in cooperation with The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
