ANI Joins International Campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence”
November 25, 2012, a group of 56 young people from Akhaltsikhe and Zugdidi Youth Centers celebrated International Day against Gender Violence, a day of renewing local and global, public and national commitments toward eliminating of violence against girls and women.
Reflecting on the global theme of the Day:” From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Let’s Challenge Militarism and End Violence against Women,” young people organized a movie show, debate session and discussion, and engaged in a street campaign to call for local and global endeavor for combating and ending gender-based violence.
International Day Against Women Violence is a part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence International Campaign and will be followed by World AIDS Day on December 1, International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3 and International Human Rights Day marking the day for reaffirming shared commitment to support enjoyment of all human rights to the fullest.
